What is moissanite?
Moissanite is the gemstone that made fully iced watches wearable. Brighter fire than diamond, near-diamond hardness, and a price that lets you cover a whole case in it. Here is the honest breakdown.
Why it sparkles
Moissanite has a higher refractive index than diamond (2.65–2.69 vs 2.42) and more dispersion, so it splits light into stronger flashes of colour. Under club lights or daylight, a hand-set moissanite bezel reads brighter than almost anything else on a wrist.
What it actually is
Moissanite is silicon carbide — a real gemstone, first found in a meteorite crater and now grown in a lab under controlled heat and pressure. It is not a coating, not cubic zirconia and not a plastic simulant. Every stone we set is VVS-grade and colourless.
Built to be worn
At 9.25 on the Mohs hardness scale it sits just below diamond and above sapphire, so it resists everyday scratching and will not cloud, dull or lose its fire over time. Each stone is individually set into a cut seat — never glued.
The value case
Because moissanite is lab-grown, you pay for the craft rather than scarcity. That is what lets us hand-set an entire case and bezel and still price a piece far below the diamond-set equivalent — the same iced-out presence, without the diamond premium.
